As the founder of 5 Little Monkeys Productions, my career in the audiovisual world began with a desire to reinvent myself. After fulfilling my dream of becoming a pilot, I discovered cinematography, a medium through which I could capture moments and bring narratives to life. Leaving aviation behind was not easy, but I needed to explore my true creative potential.
Since 2017, 5 Little Monkeys Productions has crafted cinematic content that inspires, educates, and promotes social change. I set out to tell authentic stories that reflect the world’s diversity, ensuring underrepresented voices have a place in the visual landscape. Over the years, I have expanded my expertise in photography, videography, and drone cinematography, using images to foster understanding and empathy on social issues that matter.

What Led Me to Become a Volunteer at the BIPOC Foundation
Immersed in a diverse community and engaging with stories of resilience, I felt a strong call to contribute beyond my creative work. This led me to the BIPOC Foundation, an organisation dedicated to fostering equity and amplifying marginalised voices.
My passion for storytelling and commitment to social justice aligned perfectly with the foundation’s mission. Volunteering allowed me to merge my creative expertise with meaningful activism, broadening my perspective and reinforcing my belief in the power of media as a tool for change.
A Memorable Experience
One of the most impactful experiences during my time at the BIPOC Foundation was documenting the Gala, a night filled with inspiration, celebration, and unity. Capturing heartfelt speeches, mesmerising artistic performances, and a community coming together was unforgettable.
What truly moved me were the interviews with individuals who had directly benefited from the foundation’s initiatives. Their personal stories of resilience and transformation served as powerful reminders of the foundation’s real-world impact. At that moment, I fully grasped my role not just as a filmmaker but as a conduit for these voices to reach a broader audience.
Transformational Volunteering
Volunteering at the BIPOC Foundation was transformative. It strengthened my skills in project management, inclusive content creation, and community engagement. More importantly, it deepened my understanding of BIPOC communities’ challenges and reinforced my commitment to using my craft to promote equity and representation.
This experience opened doors to new projects centred around diversity and social justice, shaping my career’s trajectory in unexpected ways. The lessons I learned continue to influence my storytelling and advocacy approach.
Where I Am Now
Today, I continue my work as the founder and director of 5 Little Monkeys Productions. The experience I gained at the BIPOC Foundation remains an integral part of my journey, guiding me toward projects that drive positive change.
Through my work, I strive to reflect the beauty of diversity, foster understanding, and encourage action. Every project is an opportunity to leave a lasting imprint on society. As I move forward, I remain committed to using my lens to highlight the stories that matter most because every story deserves to be seen and heard.
